Ekranist ("we", "our", "the app") helps you decide what movie or show to watch. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
Anonymous account. When you open Ekranist, we create an anonymous account for you automatically. No email, phone number, or name is required or collected. This anonymous ID lets us remember your swipes and watchlist between sessions.
Usage data. We store:
This data is used only to power the app's features (avoiding repeat recommendations, building your watchlist, matching with a partner in shared rooms). We do not sell this data.
Content data: Movie and show information (titles, posters, descriptions, ratings) is provided by The Movie Database (TMDB). This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
Streaming availability: Where-to-watch information is provided by JustWatch via the TMDB API.
Advertising: We use Google AdMob to show ads. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to show relevant ads, in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. You can manage ad personalization in your device's ad settings.
Backend infrastructure: App data is stored using Supabase, a database and authentication provider. See Supabase's Privacy Policy for details on their data handling.
Your anonymous account data is retained as long as you use the app. To request deletion of your data, contact us at the email below — include your anonymous user ID if known (found in Settings), and we will delete your account data within 30 days.
Ekranist is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
We may update this policy occasionally. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
